Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz – ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2′ Press Conference Live Blog by Page To PremiereFuture for your characters?Elizabeth Reaser: For Esme, I think she’d just love for everything to calm down. To not have todeal with the Volturi for a while, take a break with Carlisle on her island.Kellan Lutz: A hunting expedition! Maybe Rosalie and Emmett can go into their cabin…they allude to that so much and you never see it!New vampires? There would be a lot of times when they were unsure how things were going. So many times you become friends with whoever you’re placed next to. I was standing next to Rami Malek and Omar Metwally, for six weeks, so we became really close.Jackson Rathbone: I played a joke on Erik Odom, who plays one of my Texas brethern. I said, “Hey man? Where are your teeth You’re missing your vampire teeth?” I told him to run and go get them. We don't actually use vampire teeth.Elizabeth Reaser: I think being Esme for so long has influenced my ability to go out in a pencil skirt and heels! Esme has the extraordinary ability to wear dresses and high heels twenty four hours a day. I’d rather wear sweatpants!Talk about the action scenes?Elizabeth Reaser: I’m always reistant to action. I’m afraid I’ll punch someone in the face! I think it’s challenging to make that look believable. From an acting standpoint, I find it difficult. I find it unpleasant when someone even tries to hit me!Nikki Reed: It’s not about how hard you go at it, it’s about being graceful and it’s more like a dance. I feel bad because all these fights are choreographed and I get worried they won’t make it into the final product.Who was the best dancer in the dance battle?Nikki Reed: Toni Trucks is a choreographer, and Michael Sheen had some of the craziest moves! He really incorporated his character into the choreography!Nikki, you seemed very comfortable with the baby, do you have a strong maternal instinct?Nikki Reed: Elizabeth would tell you I’m maternal, because I cooked for her! I love children, I don’t want one now though, I’m not ready. I was constantly impressed by Mackenzie, I know it seems obvious to say, but she was just so grounded and her and her mom were so normal. How do you feel about being able to surprise fans who have read the book so many times?Jackson Rathbone: The last 20 minutes of the film are really going to be huge for the fans. It’s really amazing and beautiful, and brings back to the first Twilight. It’s really awesome, and exciting!Do you watch other vampire shows?Jackson Rathbone: I always loved the vampire genre of film. I watch vampire movies like Underworld now, there are so many different types of vampires out there. That’s why I loved this world, it’s so different than any other type of vampire out there. I loved that about Part 2, we get to see vampires from all walks of life, from all over the world.

Frågor till Rob:

If you could go back, advice before it all started?
Start drinking vodka instead of beer! Try to get a six pack as early as possible! [Chuckles] Not really actually, it’s great to experience it. Massive surprises. Like, we went to Germany and just stood in the middle of a completely full Olympic st
adium and just stood there! It’s just insanity.

The tagline is ‘Forever,’ what does that mean for you?
Death…and hope?

Were you sad to let him go?
Very very strange. Same frustration, same way through, it’s a strange part. On one part, a lot of the audience project their idea of him onto him, but my own instinct is to find the infallibility and weaknesses. So you’re trying to play both things at the same time, and playing this “perfect” specimen, but what is that? So you’re trying to play an archetype and a character at the same time. I just felt really frustrated…and then it ended.

Worst part about playing Edward?
The worst part would probably be playing a role where you can’t get hurt and you can’t die. There are too many possibilities if you can’t die, since I normally play a human…and there’s always that [death].

In fifteen years?
I can’t really be afraid of being type-cast since that’s not up to you. I don’t know how long this is going to last for, it’s been five years, imagine if they all had the same tenacity in 15 years?! I don’t know where I’ll be though, who knows.

Moment to re-live?
The first movie was fun. Everyone didn’t really know what was going to happen with the movie but there was a good energy, people wanted it to be something special. It felt like a big deal at the time, and it was exciting, the first one. Plus, the whole year afterwards was an exciting year!

Maintaining success as you go forward in your career?
I don’t know! I think, if I could get any more control over my public image, that would be nice. I’m not worried though, it’s impossible, nobody can do that apart from Denzel Washington! Yeah. It’s like, I don’t really it’s a strange place where the film industry is at. You could just play superhero after superhero, but that seems to be the only guaranteed big money thing. It’s not that satisfying getting monetary success, but you can do what you want with that recognition. There really is no guarantee, you can be successful and still not get to work with directors you want to work with.

In some ways, are you glad it’s over?
Some ways. As soon as you start calling a film a ‘franchise,’ it’s a Subway, a Burger King, not a movie. As an actor in it, it’s scary. You really feel like you have no control. It’s a huge juggernaut! Especially when it becomes a part of the cultural landscape, you get trapped. You get scared of changing. Which is the worst thing to happen, as an artist.

Are you as famous in England as in America?
I get a lot more abuse in England. It came slower there, I used to be able to walk around but now it’s similar as here in the U.S

You really were a natural stepping into the father role!
I really love working with kids and animals! It makes you feel like you’re not acting. As soon as you have someone there who is providing something to react to. Especially, working with a baby. Put a dog in a scene, and everyone will automatically be better! If they’re not better, shoot the dog.

New vampires you like?
I love Benjamin, and Rami who plays him. He’s such a good actor. It’s great seeing these actors who are so passionate about it and know it’s a big deal: Like, I have 5 lines, I’m going to own them!

Taylor said he doesn’t remember meeting you! What was it like meeting Kristen and Taylor for the first time?
I don’t remember meeting Taylor either! I met Kristen at the audition. I’m still just trying to come to terms with acknowledging being an actor at all, I remember looking at Dan, Rupert, and Emma when I worked on Harry Potter and being like THOSE guys are actors. I was star struck by those guys!I was starstruck by Kristen too when we first met. Plus, Kristen even though I’d only seen her in a few things. It’s funny to see them humanized. I was only with Dan, Rupert, and Emma for a few months and I still see them as massively famous. To see people retain their sanity as much as possible, I’ve seen people with a minor amount of fame lose their minds completely. AFter a casting announcement, let alone after everything.

Frågor till Kristen:

Props you’ve kept?
I kept her rings. Her moon-ring, and it totally reminds me of Catherine Hardwicke whenever I look at it. I have the engagement ring too. That was it! Those are really important to me, I love those things.

When did you realize the crazy fan following?
Never really realized it. Comic Con was the first time when I was hit with a wave of human energy and I was like realized that this is not a normal movie, and very much our own. The first dose of sharing it, and something that really effected and moved you, also moves other people. I thought, “We’re really going places!”

Action battle sequences?
I broke my finger on the first day we shot. So that was frustrating! i’d been on the sidelines so long, thinking “I could do that pretty well, those contacts would look pretty cool.” I think that's probably why I broke my finger, a little overzealous!

Bella’s life is paused at 18, what age would you pause yourself at?
I don’t know! Yeah, I’m not sure, sorry, most boring answer ever. Haven’t gotten to that point yet.

How did Bella’s journey parallel your own since you were similar in age?
Without taking the truth out of this, it’s so sort of general. Like that period where you’re like “do I go with this, or is that crazy?!” I think it ultimately is yes, absolutely! You’ll question yourself, but it just gets a little easier. I think I feel a little more realized, a lot more actually. Maybe just by chance we happen to be the same age. She lives so many years in such a tiny period of time. That’s only because of the story, it’s hard to put yourself there. I think I’ve grown up, definitely.

Effect this franchise has had on your career?
I can’t answer what my dream role is or what I want to do next. I’ve gotten insanely lucky, and things have had things fall in my lap. If I can keep doing that, I’ll be a happy girl! I mean, I can read a great script, and not think I have it in me, but you can also be surprised and read a script and be like, “wow, I did not know I had that in me!” Now, I want to dig a little deeper. You can shock yourself a little bit, and that’s what I’d like to do.

The final scene sums it all up, what was it like seeing that for the first time?
It’s so crazy to see. You typically don’t get that opportunity to look back, I recently got to see the final cut and I couldn’t. [Hides face] Nope! He understood, really puts his finger on what drives this thing. This movie is romantic, and I don’t want to say sappy, but that’s what was so stirring. If someone tried to be “cool” with it, I think that wouldn’t have been the correct choice. You can tell he’s a huge fan! It’s a nice little knife twist, like gah, it’s really over? I love Bill for doing that.

Playing a mother?
Some people have strong natural instincts, to be a mom. There was never enough about that in the script for me. Luckily Stephanie has been on set every day on this one, and we were really together on that aspect. Vampires have slightly more animalistic nature, and what better way to show that [motherhood]. I have a great relationship with my mom, and she has a bit of a feral nature to being my mom. I can’t wait to be a mom…but I can wait!

Relationship with co-stars?
We share the movies! The general question is how it feels to walk away from it, and I don’t think I’m walking away from anything. I think [Rob and Taylor] feel the same way, at least they say they do. There are a lot of exceedingly famous people, and they all get it too.

Are you glad it’s over?
I’m really happy to have the story told. We had five years, so excited to have it out there. I don’t want to sound excited to have it be over. Anything, like re-shoots, like anything falls right back into that. I will definitely miss that. However, I feel like it’s not going anywhere. It is sad, but it’s normal, things shouldn’t stay stagnant.

Would you do another franchise?
Yeah! It depends, it’s hard to sign onto something if you don’t know what you’re singing up for. My guess is probably not, but it’s hard to find something that lends itself to that. I’m not a huge fan of any comic book. So, as of now, probably not, but never say never.

What does Bella want for Christmas, what super-power would you want?
Bella’s not into presents! I would absolutely love to be able to run that fast. I wouldn't want to live forever.

Any question you wish you’ve been asked?
What do I desperately want to let out? Yeah, nothing?

Frågor till Taylor:

Advice you’d give yourself?
I knew at the time that it was going to go by so fast, so just to soak it all up and enjoy each and every moment.

Line between caring and creepy with Renesmee?

It’s a fine line and I was worried about it. We were fortunate to have Stephenie on set the whole time for the last two, and she said stop overcomplicating it! It’s a lifelong bond between two people, so, it’s more of a protective thing. Like a brother and sister relationship. So I couldn’t allow myself to think ahead and go beyond that. I think Bill did a great job with it, because it is delicate.

Meeting Kristen for the first time?
I was nervous, I was the youngest. I think it was a little awkward when we first met each-other. We were shooting on the beach in terrible weather and I was wearing a nasty wig. Ever since then it’s been great!

Working on a big franchise?
It was an amazing experience being able to play a character across five movies. I love Jacob, he has so many qualities that I wish I had. His loyalty, his persistence, he’s going to be a tough character to say goodbye to.

Relationships with the other actors?
Our friendships will go on forever. I find it amazing that this cast meshed so well! We are so thankful for that, we have a blast everytime we film these movies, everytime we promote them. The relationships are what I’ll cherish most.

What was it like shooting the scene where you phase into a wolf in front of Charlie?
Billy is one of the coolest people alive. It’s always uncomfortable to take your shirt off, and I’m the only one in just jean shorts! This was a new one, the pants came off in the scene too. I was so nervous, because it was written so hilarious. I wanted it to come across that way. It was a blast to shoot!

The scene where Bella is yelling at Jacob about imprinting?
It was my favorite scene. In the book it was so awesome, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. Just the visual of Bella chucking me around like that! I think Kristen had a lot of fun with it.

You came close to not getting the role, can you talk about what your life would be like id you hadn’t gotten it?
Not really! I had amazing support, and I had to do a lot to make it happen. Every burger patty, day in the gym, protein shake. I remember it all! I just had one goal and went after it.

Filming both films (Part 1 & 2) at once?
It was tough. Some days you’d film part one in the morning, and you’d break and have lunch, and then you’d be filming a scene from part 2. So it’s a completely different Jacob in Part 2, I just had to really focus. For that, having Stephenie on set was helpful as well. I loved playing Jacob in this one, he had a great new side to him, he knew where his place was in the world. A large weight lifted off his shoulder, and I loved playing the comic relief.

Greatest thing you’d take from this experience?
We can pick certain extents of how I wanted to challenge ourselves. So I can’t be more thankful for all this franchise has given me.
